At Coyotes Run we are truly divided. Our nearly 60 acres of premium vineyard are cut on a diagonal. On one side a dense black clay composed of the ancient lake bed where our farm is planted forming our black paw vineyard. On the other side, a unique exposure of ancient bed rock is easily noticed by it’s bright red colour and the brightness it lends our wines. This ’14 red paw Pinot Noir show’s all of the qualities we come to expect from this side of the farm. The nose is complex and aromatic with notes of ripe red cherry, rhubarb and a bit of root beer. The palate is mid-weight and juicy with fine tannins and great length.
This is a very pretty pinot, with well-defined fruit and plenty of complexity in the flavour profile. There’s some silkiness in the texture and the tannins are drying but unobtrusive. Drink now and to the end of the decade to enjoy its freshness.
