ABV: 6.8%, IBU: 20
Style: Belgian Ale
Overall: A refreshing sweet yet spicy Belgian style beer brewed with pilsner malt, Belgian saison yeast, and European and American hops. Suits European tastes and those who like something a little different!
Aroma & Taste: Notes of lemon, banana, and white pepper in the nose and palate. The pepper, banana and ester aromas come from the Belgian yeast that is used. Comparable to a sweeter wheat ale.
Hops: Saaz, Cascade
Food Pairings: Cured meats, strong cheeses, European dishes, pastries and desserts
Story: Bobcaygeon Brewing Company was founded in April 2014 with one goal in mind: To brew great craft beers to be enjoyed among friends. Co-founders Richard and Vince have a strong passion for craft beer and have always had the dream of building their own brewery. Their dream became a reality while enjoying a few craft beers at Richard’s home just outside of Bobcaygeon. Richard and Vince realized that there were no local breweries for them to support, so they decided to solve the problem and open their own to serve the community of Bobcaygeon and beyond. They quickly taught themselves how to brew and began developing the recipe for the flagship beer, the Common Loon APA. Since then they have grown with new styles and flavours to suit everyone’s tastes.
